Just Right Place, LLC operates BoardAsk. This page describes this website and BoardAsk in general. A school district’s services agreement covers that district. It names the published sources, who may sign in, and how long we keep that district’s materials. If the agreement and this page differ, the agreement controls.
This website
If you write to us, we use what you send to reply and to follow up on a meeting or a proposal. We do not sell that information.
Published records
BoardAsk reads records a district already publishes, such as agendas, minutes, policies, and more. We do not take student information systems, individualized education programs, or personnel files. The page we cite is the record. An answer is a summary of that page.
Accounts
A district names the work emails that may sign in, and the sign-in method for that district. We use that to let those people in and to keep the account working. We do not sell account information.
Signing in
You sign in to BoardAsk with an email address and password, or with Google or Microsoft. If you use Google or Microsoft, we receive your name, your email address, your profile picture if you have one, and an account ID from that provider. We use these only to create and secure your BoardAsk account, to sign you in, and to link your sign-in methods to one account.
We do not ask Google or Microsoft for access to your mail, files, calendar, or contacts. We do not sell this information, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models. We do not share it with anyone except the providers that host BoardAsk for us, and only so the service can run.
If you sign in with a password, we store a hashed version of it, not the password itself. We keep your account information while your account exists. To have it deleted, write to contact@boardask.com.
BoardAsk’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep you signed in. You can turn cookies off in your browser. Parts of BoardAsk need them to work.
How long we keep it
For a district, retention and deletion are in the services agreement. Messages to us stay only as long as we need them to respond and to keep a record of the conversation.
